Medical Nutrition Therapy-a way of treating medical conditions based on nutrition. This includes assessment of an individual’s nutritional status and needs, development of a meal plan, education on diet specifics, and monitoring for results.
Conditions include Overweight, Obesity, Metabolic Syndrome, Elevated Lipids, Diabetes, Underweight, Food Allergies, Celiac Disease, Eating Disorders, and Sports Nutrition as well as many others.

In an effort to simplify nutrition messages, the Food Pyramid has recently been replaced by “My Plate”. The key message for all is to include fruits and vegetables daily so they cover one half of your plate at a meal. For more information go to: www.chooseMyPlate.gov
