Pediatric Alliance — Jefferson Hills (1 year)

Birthplace:  Vicksburg, Mississippi

Education:  Northglenn High School in Northglenn, Colorado/University of Colorado- Boulder (Bachelor of Arts with double major in Environmental Biology and Integrative Physiology)/Midwestern University in Chicago, Illinois (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine).

Training: University of South Carolina Pediatric Residency Program in Columbia, South Carolina.

Professional Interests:  I am very passionate when it comes to childhood obesity. There are few things that can have a bigger impact on a child’s life than a healthy lifestyle.

Personal Hobbies:  Baking and spending as much time as I can with my 1 year old son.

Why I Chose Pediatrics:  I have always been fascinated by the human body and how it works. Combined with loving to work with kids, pediatrics was the perfect choice.

What I Love About Pediatrics:  Everything! It is such a privilege to take care of children. I love watching them grow and evolve, and it is so special to be a part of their lives.

Patients Have Taught Me:  That what really matters in life is family, health, and being loved. If you have those things, everything else is good.

Dogs or Cats?  Dogs.

Favorite Vacation Spot:  Outer Banks, NC

It’s Not Pizza Without:  Pepperoni. (Chicago style is the best!)

Now Playing On My iPod:  I love music that makes me feel happy, so right now Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling” is on repeat.

Favorite Food:  Cheese grits. I’m originally from Mississippi, and therefore love all Southern food. Cheese grits are my go-to comfort food.

On My Bucket List:  I would love to travel to all 50 states.

Who Plays Me In My Hollywood Biography:  The actress Jenna Fischer (she played Pam in “The Office”). I am told constantly that I remind people of her.

One Brain I’d Like To Pick:  My grandfather’s. He was a pediatrician for over 40 years. Unfortunately he passed away while I was in high school and I never got the chance to chat with him about his experiences in pediatrics. I would love to know what practicing pediatrics was like for him and the advice he would give families.

Favorite Season:  Fall. The crisp air, beautiful scenery, apple cider and pumpkin bread… it doesn’t get any better.
