Additional Information

Dr. McGarrity has lived in Pittsburgh since moving here for her residency in 1992.  She is married, has two sons and one daughter, and the family resides in Upper St. Clair. The family dog is a new puppy named Lola.

Dr. McGarrity has a special interest in autism as both her sons have a diagnosis in the autism spectrum. She is also active with volunteering and fundraising for Autism Speaks.

Additional Information

Dr. King is a native of New England, growing up in Southern New Hampshire. He graduated from Keene State College, New Hampshire with a dual bachelor’s degree in chemistry and biology. He lived in Philadelphia for 7 years while he trained at Jefferson Medical College and the Thomas Jefferson/AI DuPont Hospital for Children pediatric residency program.

Dr. King landed in Pittsburgh in 2001 to be near his wife’s family. It is here that they settled down and have two wonderful kids. He has a strong professional interest in ADHD, learning disabilities, and anxiety. Over the years, Dr. King has made a solo bike ride across the country to benefit abused children, participated in medical work in Africa, and lectured about child abuse around Western Pennsylvania for EPIC-SCAN PA. He is an accomplished glass blower and is always trying to find time for backpacking, scuba diving, inventing, and art.

Damian Ternullo M.D.

Additional Information

Dr. Damian Ternullo was born and raised in Schenectady, NY. He attended SUNY at Binghamton for undergraduate coursework and the University of Pittsburgh for his MD degree. He received the Health Professions Scholarship (HPSP) from the US Army and completed his pediatric residency at the San Antonio Military Pediatric Center. Dr. Ternullo was stationed as a pediatrician at Ft. Stewart for 3 years in Savannah, GA. During this time, he was deployed to Iraq to support soldiers of the 3-7 Infantry Division in Operation Iraqi Freedom III.

Dr. Ternullo and his wife returned to Pittsburgh in 2007 to raise their 3 children. He joined Pediatric Alliance St. Clair in 2009 and is especially interested in managing ADHD and concussions. Dr. Ternullo enjoys planning trips to Disney World, boating, biking and skiing.

Debra Faber M.D.

Additional Information

Dr. Faber is a graduate of Penn State University and earned her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She completed a Pediatric Residency at Duke University Medical Center. She has been with Pediatric Alliance – St. Clair since 1998. Dr. Faber has served on medical mission trips to Kenya, Peru, and Belize. She is married and lives in Gibsonia with her husband and three school-aged children.  Dr. Faber enjoys attending their sporting events and activities, exercising, and trying her hand at gardening.

Ashley Loboda M.D.

Additional Information

Dr. Loboda is originally from Hudson, Ohio. She and her husband moved to Pittsburgh so that she could complete her medical training at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in 2009. They love living in Pittsburgh and are happy to call it home for their three boys. Despite being raised near Cleveland, they are dedicated Pittsburgh sports fans. Dr. Loboda has specific interests in breastfeeding medicine, adoption medicine, and international medicine. She is fluent in Spanish. She enjoys traveling and has volunteered in the Amazon rain forest of Ecuador and an orphanage in Ukraine. She and her husband are in the process of adopting a little girl from Bulgaria. When she is not caring for her children, Dr. Loboda enjoys training for triathlons, gardening, and reading a good book.

Kristin Koontz, PA-C

Additional Information

Kristin Koontz was born and raised in western Pennsylvania and graduated from Charleroi High School. She then attended Penn State University before transferring to Philadelphia University to complete her Physician Assistant degree. Upon graduation, she relocated to Cumberland Maryland where she worked in a pediatric practice for 8 years.

In 2005, the family, including 3 young daughters, moved back home to western Pennsylvania where Kristin’s fourth child, a son, was born. And in 2006, Kristin joined Pediatric Alliance.

Kristin enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, especially camping and hiking, and is currently completing many DIY home renovations when she is not in the office. Kristin loves her career and enjoys watching her patients grow and develop. She is currently working on becoming a certified lactation consultant.

Julie Cowden, PA-C

Julie Cowden grew up in Robinson Township and graduated from Montour High School. She went on to attend Duquesne University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and a Masters of Physician Assistant.

She currently lives in Imperial with her husband, two young children, and two large dogs. She loves spending time with her family, photography, reading, and helping others in the community.

Felicia Finnegan, PA-C

Additional Information

Felicia grew up east of Pittsburgh in Penn Trafford. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg and went on to complete her Master’s Degree with Pitt’s Physician Assistant Program. Between degrees, Felicia worked for two years as an EMT with her local ambulance service.

In her free time, Felicia enjoys spending time with family and volunteering at local sporting events. Felicia’s other hobbies include rowing, yoga, Crossfit, reading, and exploring all that Pittsburgh has to offer.
